***We recommend using some med strength thread-locker when installing the studs in the head***
Installation Guide:
1. Make sure the cylinder head threads are clean and free of burrs. (Note: this kit includes enough studs to replace all of the manifold hardware. However you may chose to keep the OEM outer studs as they can sometimes be a pain to remove. The included washers and nuts will work with these factory studs).
2. Install the studs into the head using some Loctite 243 (blue) thread locker as it is compatible with the passive titanium. You can use a different thread locker, but make sure that it's compatible with titanium as not all thread lockers are. For install, you can simply snug them into the head as they will bottom out on the machined shoulder. Give the thread locker a few hours to set up before proceeding to the next step.
3. Apply some anti-seize compound to the threads of the studs to prevent any galling of the threads and aid in future removal.
4. Install the manifold gasket followed by the exhaust manifold. Install the washers (flat face towards the head) followed by the lock nuts. Hand tighten for now.
5. Next, install the intake manifold (make sure it is seated correctly on the dowels!!) followed by the remaining washers and nuts. Ensure the washers are in the correct orientation with the flat side towards the manifolds!
6. To finish the installation, simply torque the nuts to the factory specs (24ft/lbs) and in the factory sequence shown below.
